I am a practicing surgeon and for years have wanted someday to learn to speak Esperanto. Until recently it has not been possible for me to do that.
I have read a great deal and enjoy sailing. My interests include science, history, politics, travel and global issues. My greatest concern is about the future of the world.
I would like to be able to converse with a like-minded person elsewhere in the world -- preferably someone who does not speak English.
My command of Esperanto is somewhere around B1 but steadily improving.

ThaiI'm a computer programmer who had one year of high-school Spanish. I assure you that it won't make you fluent in anything. Where I live currently has a large Hispanic community and I really need to get fluent in Spanish. I'm overdue. I'm also studying Thai. I can read most of the script, but I have no real knowledge of the language beyond สวัสดี.
I'm into games (both tabletop and computer), music (I play numerous instruments as well as can arrange for orchestra) and love movies. I do a lot of crafts including sewing, woodwork and soap making.
