I am retired. I live in Northern California. I love to read, especially literary fiction. I enjoy live theater and opera, and museums of almost any kind. I worked in information technology for most of my career. I enjoy traveling and going to new places. I really want to learn French fluently, even though (or perhaps especially because) I'm still only at a low B1 level.

I am a qualified JSL (Japanese as a second language) teacher (passed Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test) and have experience of teaching Japanese to international students in a few language schools in Japan. It's been a while since then but I still love to help others improve their Japanese.
