Hello I am Robert, currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. I am studying Chinese for almost a couple of years now. Yet, I still struggle to communicate with locals as the sentence structures and the vocabulary (and even the pronunciation) used in formal lesson seems so different from daily Taiwanese Chinese. I hope I can find a language partner who can practice Chinese with me the Taiwanese way. I am an English editor and a medical writer with an extensive and advanced science and medical vocabulary. So if you are in the medical field and would like to improve your science communication in English, I am your guy. However, I would be happy to help you with your English in any topic. I like working out especially on weekends, sightseeing, going to nightmakets or just enjoy a cup of coffee. We can practice online via Line or we can meet in person.

Hi, my name is Kris. I teach history at a university in the US, and am spending summer 2024 in Taiwan (about four months) doing research on the history and culture of vegetarian food in Taiwan. I will travel around Taiwan and eat all of the vegetarian food I can find! But I will be based out of Taipei while I am there. I am married with two kids, and I enjoy running, sports, reading, travel, and a nice cup of something hot to drink while I am working. :) I'm looking for someone to meet once or twice a week. It could be in the afternoons or evenings. If on the weekends, mornings would be okay as well. I am open to both zoom LE until early May when I go to Taiwan, and then when I am in Taiwan, perhaps in-person LE if the distance is not too far to travel (I will be staying near Dongmen station on the red line). I used to live in Taiwan and in Hong Kong, for about 6 years, from 2006 to 2012, and have spent about a year in Taiwan in the last few years. I love Taiwan and miss Taipei. Such a beautiful place and I am happy to go back for a few months. If you want to study English and are serious about LE, send me a message!
