Γεια σας! Με λένε Jay.
Είμαι 43 χρονών. Μένω στη Λάρνακα, στην Κύπρο.
Πριν έμενα πολλά χρόνια στην Αγγλία.
Μαθαίνω ελληνικά. Το επίπεδό μου είναι Α1 και τώρα διαβάζω για το Α2.
Έγραψα αυτό το κείμενο μόνος μου, με απλά ελληνικά. Συγγνώμη για τα λάθη!
Θέλω να ακούω και να μιλάω περισσότερο. Αυτό είναι δύσκολο για μένα.
Μιλάω αργά και κάνω λάθη. Χρειάζομαι λίγη υπομονή, αλλά προσπαθώ πολύ.
Μπορώ να σε βοηθήσω με τα αγγλικά.
Μιλάω πολύ καλά αγγλικά. Έμεινα πολλά χρόνια στην Αγγλία και δούλεψα εκεί.

Γι' αυτό έχω υπομονή.
Πώς δουλεύει: 30 λεπτά ελληνικά και 30 λεπτά αγγλικά. Μισά-μισά.
Πότε: Δευτέρα, Τετάρτη και Πέμπτη, 7:30 - 9:30 το βράδυ (ώρα Κύπρου).
Πού: Μένω στη Λάρνακα. Μπορούμε να πιούμε έναν καφέ εδώ,
ή μπορούμε να μιλήσουμε online.
Μου αρέσουν τα βιβλία, η μουσική, ο χορός, η πεζοπορία και το ποδήλατο.

Hi, I'm Jay.
I'm 43 and I live in Larnaca, Cyprus. Before moving here I spent most of my
life in the UK. I'm learning Greek and I'm honest about my level: A1,
currently working towards A2. I wrote the Greek above myself, without help —
mistakes and all — so you can see exactly what you'd be working with.
WHAT I'M TRYING TO FIX
Listening and speaking. I can read, and I can build a sentence in my head
given time, but real conversation at normal speed still loses me. I'm
looking for someone happy to speak slowly at first, repeat things, and
correct me as we go.
WHAT I OFFER IN RETURN
I speak fluent English and spent years living and working in Britain, so
alongside ordinary conversation practice I can help properly with:
- Job interview practice — mock interviews, the questions that always come
up, and how to sound natural rather than rehearsed
- CV review — I'll go through yours line by line with you
- Business and professional English — emails, meetings, phone calls
I'm on the learner's side of this myself with Greek right now, so I know
exactly how slow it feels. You won't get impatience from me.
HOW IT WORKS
A straight 50/50 swap: 30 minutes Greek, 30 minutes English. Timer on, so
neither of us quietly loses their half.
WHEN I'M FREE
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 19:30 - 21:30 Cyprus time (EEST).
WHERE
I'm in Larnaca. If you're anywhere in Cyprus I'd much rather meet for a
coffee — I learn far more face to face. If you're in Greece or elsewhere,
online is fine (voice call or WhatsApp or Telegram).
Outside languages I'm into literature, music, dancing, hiking and cycling —
happy to talk about any of them, slowly.

I am originally from Ukraine and I live in Larnaca, Cyprus. I work as a manager in an international company. My native languages are Russian and Ukrainian. I also speak basic English and I am learning Greek at A2–B1 level.

Hi my name is Sophia and I'm 16 years old. I know three languages and I want to learn more because I'm interested in other cultures. Previously I had some experience in French (I used to go to the lessons) and I also passed the DEFL exam in level A2 with 60%.
